Enhance the vitality of North Central Massachusetts communities through local arts, culture, creativity, civic engagement, and community development. 4. Support efforts by local nonprofit organizations to strengthen and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. 5. Preserve, restore, and provide public access to the natural environment of the region and promote the humane treatment of animals through education, advocacy, and services. Develop a childcare funding model that combines employer, employee and public sector contributions that will increase the supply and quality of childcare available to working families in North Central Massachusetts. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES Individuals, families and businesses can work with the Community Foundation to establish named funds that will benefit their favorite charities and advance issues they most care about. is includes: Designated Funds: Endowments support a specific charity or charities. Donor-Advised Funds: Receive tax deduction and make donations to your chosen charities at your own pace. Field-of-Interest Funds: Identify an issue area of interest and the Community Foundation will award grants to the most impactful organizations. Scholarships: Support local students through a named scholarship fund. Undesignated: Donate to the Community Foundation's general endowment and let the Board of Trustees direct the funds to areas of need and opportunity in the region. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES We encourage the public to help grow our endowed grant funds for: Environmental preservation and animal welfare, including: • Animal rescue, protection, and placement • Land/water preservation • Habitat restoration • Improving public access to natural places • Local action to address climate change mitigation and adaptation Career readiness and educational access, including: • Scholarship programs that foster career pathways • Career exploration • Career navigation support systems • Work-based learning programs • Intermediaries that connect stakeholders to career advancement resources and services Community enrichment including: • Arts and Culture: including art in public places, art in community institutions, and "art for art's sake" • Community-enhancing projects and the preservation of community heritage and history • Advancing community cohesion and participation Organizational development, including: • Planning support (strategic, fund development, marketing, etc.) • Fostering new collaborations • Small capital needs (furniture, equipment, technology, etc.) To contribute to these funds go to www.cfncm.org.
