Veshi has served as interim vice president since December and joined Nichols in 1998 as director of donor and prospect management. As vice president, she will lead the advancement and alumni relations team and engage with alumni. Veshi earned a bachelor's degree in communications at Long Island University Post and a master's degree in communications at Fordham University in New York. THOMAS O'CONNELL was hired as the library director of the Grafton Public Library. O'Connell will be responsible for the management, operation, and leadership of programs and services and oversee the library staff. He has worked in libraries for the majority of his career, previously serving as manager of collection development and technical services at the Springfield City Library. O'Connell holds a master's degree in library science and a bachelor's degree in geography from Southern Connecticut State University. Dr. CHINTAN PATEL was named chief of urology at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Patel will oversee the clinical functions of the urology department and organize protocols and policies to improve quality and safety for all patients. He is a graduate of Brown University Medical School in Rhode Island and completed a general surgery internship and urological surgery residency at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Boston. ANDREW BARTHOLOMEW joined Worcester law firm Seder & Chandler as an associate attorney in the litigation practice group. Previously, Bartholomew was an associate attorney at Worcester law firm Bowditch & Dewey and served as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. He received his juris doctor from Boston College Law School and a bachelor's degree from Boston College. Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce hired two new employees and promoted a third. DARNELL DUNN was hired as its new director of business recruitment. Dunn will be responsible for leading initiatives aimed at attracting new businesses to the Worcester region and fostering the growth of existing businesses. Previously, he was a senior associate at Worcester real estate brokerage Rubric Commercial. Dunn earned a bachelor's degree in economics from UMass Amherst. RHONDA WHITE joined the chamber as a finance assistant. White previously worked as buyer and planner for manufacturing firm Kadant Solutions Division in Auburn. She is a certified public accountant and worked as an office manager and production planner at McNamara Fabricating in West Boylston. In addition to its two new staff members, MICHAEL KANE transitioned into the role of economic development and public policy associate. Kane has been a fellow at the chamber since 2023 and comes with experience working multiple internships and fellowships in Worcester and Western Massachusetts. He received a bachelor's degree in political science at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and is pursuing a juris doctor at Suffolk University Law School in Boston. KATHLEEN JORDAN has joined the board of the statewide nonprofit Association for Behavioral Healthcare. ABH's board of directors sets the policy, advocacy, and education agendas to improve and expand access to mental health and addiction services in the state. Jordan is the president and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation in Worcester. JOHN DECKER was hired as the vice president of commercial lending at Workers Credit Union in Littleton. Decker will work with local businesses and real estate investors to meet their lending needs. He has more than 25 years of commercial lending experience and previously served as commercial loan officer at BankFive in Fall River. Shepherd & Goldstein of Worcester promoted JONAH LERNER and MATTHEW GOLDSTEIN to principal. Lerner joined S&G in 2017. Prior to joining S&G he spent several years with Deloitte in Boston. Lerner is a specialist in multi- state nexus issues, particularly in the technology and ecommerce sectors. He graduated from the UMass Amherst with a bachelor's degree in economics, earned his juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, and is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Goldstein joined S&G in 2008. Specializing in delivering tax, accounting and management advisory services, Goldstein has showcased his expertise across diverse industries, catering to a wide range of clients. He earned an MBA from Nichols College in Dudley. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
