Haley Ward Inc., an employee-owned professional engineering, environ- mental and surveying consulting firm in Bangor, said it was named one of Zweig Group's "Best Firms To Work For" for 2024, marking the third con- secutive year of recognition. Cole Ellis, heading into his second year at Thomas College in Waterville, won second place of Season 9 of Greenlight Maine's College Edition business competition show. Ellis won $7,500 for pitching his business, Keep it Clean Heat Pumps, a service and cleaning company in Searsport. Katahdin Trust Co. in Houlton said it earned the designation as a "2024 Best Place for Working Parents" for a third straight year.
