The fund, named the Richard P. Burke Fund to Support Older Adults, will support the health and human services needs of older adults in Worcester County, ac- cording to a Dec. 15 press release from GWCF. The $150,000 initial funding from Fallon Health will launch what is meant to be a permanent fund to support those members of the community. Burke's retirement from the Worcester health insurance plan and service provider was announced in February 2023. He has held the president and CEO role for eight years and has been with Fallon for 25 years. "Establishing a field of interest fund at the community foundation is a wonderful way to honor Rich- ard and his legacy," Peter Dunn, president and CEO of GWCF, said in the press release.
