Maugel DeStefano Architects was named the 2023 Archi- tectural Firm of the Year by the Boston Real Estate Times. Dario Design was bought by Maine-based engineering firm Haley Ward in November. The former president of Dario Designs will serve as the firm's building design service line director, according to Mainebiz. SMOOK Architecture and Urban Design has prioritized the importance of sustain- ability in its designs, and a 4,200-square-foot office building in Westborough went through extensive public vetting before construction began. Nault Architects is renovating the Worcester Regional Food Hub to create five commercial kitchens, which will be used as a teaching space and provide startup locations with space to produce commercial products.
