Meagher, research@nebusinessmedia.com Worcester incubator Massa- chusetts Biomedical Initiatives has entered a sponsorship with Thermo Fisher Scientific in Waltham, which will support an updated and state-of-the-art in- strument suite at the Worcester startup hub. Thermo Fisher will house a suite at MBI with advanced re- search equipment to accelerate research and development for MBI companies, according to a Dec. 13 press release from MBI. The updated equipment will include a fluorescence-imaging system, a real-time PCR system for molecular and DNA research, and access to technical support and supply centers. The sponsorship is part of MBI's $6-million capital cam- paign, which aims to build out its biomanufacturing incubator.
