Gladys Ortiz has taken on the role, responsible for over- seeing the day-to-day operations of the group, implementing strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration among community busi- ness members and stakeholders. Ortiz's appointment became effective May 10. She is the CEO and founder of The Go Affect, which provides consulting services for businesses. Michael J. O'Sullivan III has joined law firm Neubert, Pepe & Monteith P.C. as an associate. He represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation, corporate and business transactions, and real estate law. Naugatuck-based Ion Bank recently announced a series of staff promotions. Stephanie Bliga has been promoted to first vice president, risk and compliance officer; Tiffany Cronin has been promoted to first vice president, deposit operations officer; Kathy LaGrave has been promoted to first vice president, deposit operations officer; Richard Labriola has been promoted to first vice president, sales manager at Ion Investments; Lisa Rancourt has been promoted to first vice president, operations officer at Ion Investments; Marylou Cunningham has been promoted to vice president, marketing officer; Tony Pereira has been promoted to vice president, relation- ship manager; Robert Perry has been promoted to vice president, BSA officer; Tywan Watkins has been promoted to vice president, rela- tionship manager; Genie Tricarico has been promoted to assistant vice president, residential and consumer lending; Melissa Fortier has been promoted to residential/consumer loan servicing officer; Zoya Ivanova has been promoted to assistant BSA officer; and Zaleena Persaud has been promoted to commercial loan servicing officer. Torrington Savings Bank has promoted Jennifer Marchand to executive vice president, treasurer, CFO and assistant secretary. Marchand's expertise has grown exponen- tially at TSB since joining the bank in 2010 as a staff accoun- tant. During her tenure she has gained more responsibility and has held titles of accounting officer, assistant treasurer, and vice president and controller. Jewett City Savings Bank announced the election of two new directors and four new corporators. The new directors are Louis Demicco III, vice president of Jewett City Greenhouses Inc.; and Beth Steele, lawyer and managing partner of the Law Offices of DiFran- cesca & Steele P.C. The new corporators are Scott Davis, vice president of operations/ controller, Bonner Electric Inc.; Douglas Hall, attorney; Melissa Meyers, CEO of Generations Family Health Center Inc.; and Erin Palonen, principal of Griswold High School. The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut announced that Pete Collins has been named chair of its board of directors. Collins has served as an active leader- ship volunteer to the organization for nearly 10 years, and assumes the chair role after serving as vice chair in 2023. Collins is the senior vice president for enterprise operations at Travelers, where he oversees companywide operations and business support capabilities that enable the compa- ny's delivery of products and services to customers, agents and brokers. Before joining Travelers in 2014, Collins was executive vice president of customer management for Vertex, an international provider of customer management outsourcing, consulting and technology services. Nonprofit community hospital and healthcare system Day Kimball Health in Putnam has named Dr. Vanessa M. Brown vice president of medical affairs and quality. Since 2020, Brown has served as the medical director of Day Kimball Health's emer- gency department. Before joining the Day Kimball Hospital team, Brown served as an attending physician at Stamford Hospital, where she also served as chair of the credentials committee. In her new position, she is respon- sible for serving as the liaison between the health system's medical and executive staff. She oversees the medical staff office, quality improve- ment/risk management department, and the medical staff directors in 11 areas of care.
