At Hubbell, Hsieh was respon- sible for the company's legal, governance, compliance, internal audit and environmental, health and safety functions. Before joining Hubbell, Hsieh had a 16-year tenure at United Tech- nologies Corp, now RTX Corp. Hsieh is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Columbia Manu- facturing Inc., a Columbia-based supplier of preci- sion metal compo- nents for domestic and international turbine engines, has hired Amy Osorio as its new human resources manager. Osorio will work closely with Columbia's leader- ship team to manage all aspects of HR matters at the 100-employee company. Previously, Osorio was the HR manager for Coburn Technolo- gies Inc. in South Windsor. New Haven-based BioCT, Connecti- cut's life sciences trade association, announced it has added Mike Stow to its board of directors. Stow is vice president of global marketing for Robotic Surgical Technologies in the surgical busi- ness of healthcare technology company Medtronic. At Medtronic, Stow leads a global team responsible for marketing the company's soft-tissue, robotic-as- sisted surgery system, which has strong R&D roots in Connecticut and is in clinical use at hospitals across five continents. Walden Environ- mental Engineering has announced that David Garner has joined the firm as the director in its envi- ronment, health and safety (EHS) group. Garner is based in the Greater Hartford area with the rest of Walden's EHS group. He will take on the task of expanding the engineering services offered to EHS clients and broadening the services offered to engineering clients. John T. Szalan II has joined law firm Neubert, Pepe, & Monteith P.C. as an associate. He is based in the firm's New Haven office and is a member of the commercial litigation and creditor rights groups. Szalan's experience includes representation of financial institutions, creditors and institutional real estate clients on settlement negotiations, title issues and real estate transactions. Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors (WHZ) announced the promotions of Jillian Smick to senior asso- ciate, client experience and relationships; and Brandon Koehler to senior associate, client relationships. Smick joined WHZ in August 2021, after working in the hospi- tality industry at luxury resorts focused on enhancing the guest experience. Koehler joined WHZ in June 2022, after previously working in operations and customer service roles at UConn Athletics and the town of Mansfield. Law firm Day Pitney announced that two of its partners in Connecticut have recently been elected to leader- ship positions within the firm. Elizabeth "Beth" Alquist, a Hartford-based partner in the firm's intellectual property and technology litigation practice, has been elected to serve on the executive committee. She steps into the role after serving as chair of the firm's litigation depart- ment for the last two years. She joins existing committee members including Managing Partner Gregory A. Hayes and Michael P. Byrne. In addition, Darren M. Wallace, a partner in the firm's Stamford office, has been named vice chair of the private client department. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has added three new members to its board of trustees: Tanya Bovee, Gina Luari and Zach Hoffman. Bovee is a principal in the Hartford office of law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. Luari is the founder and CEO of The Statement Group, the restaurant group behind The Place 2 Be and RAW*. Hoffman is the sales director for the Hoffman Auto Group. Meantime, after 32 years as a trustee, Connecticut Superior Court Judge Greg Davis will become a Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Life Trustee.
