The building, which has been vacant for some time, last served as a sushi restaurant. By late summer, it will have a ground-floor retail tenant, the Portsmouth, N.H., fashion brand Drift Collective. The upper three floors will each have apartments. Two blocks away, Optimum will manage the fitout of the Angoor Self Pour Wine Bar, which will be at 100 Fore St. adjacent to the Roux Institute. f PM Construction, of Saco, is managing the renovation of the Hannaford Supermarket in Damariscotta. The renovation goes across several depart- ments. The 60,000-square-foot store will remain open throughout the project. f The University of Maine System invested $143 million in construction projects in fiscal-year 2023. Sargent Corp., Bowman Constructors and Sullivan & Merritt Constructors Inc., all headquartered in Penobscot County, topped the list of the Maine suppliers to which the UMaine System sent the largest payments. The UMaine System paid Consigli Construction and PC Construction a com- bined $31.6 million in FY23 for both new construction projects and deferred maintenance. Consigli is based in Milford, Mass., and has a Portland office at 15 Franklin St. PC Construction is based in South Burlington, Vt., and has a Portland office at 131 Presumpscot St. f Great Falls Construction, of Gorham, broke ground on a 4,900-square foot building for the town of Sebago. The site will be used for fire-fighting equip- ment. Subs on the job will be civil engineering firm Sebago Technics of South Portland, architectural firm Grant Hays Associates of Falmouth and structural engineering firm Structural Integrity of Portland. f F.W. Webb Co. moved its Aroostook County wholesale location from 420 Main St. in Caribou to 15 Central Drive in Presque Isle, 12 miles away. At 43,000 square feet, the Presque Isle facility is more than four times larger than the building in Caribou. F.W. Webb claims to be the Northeast's largest wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC systems, LP gas, refrigeration, pipe, valves and fittings. The Bedford, Mass.-based company has more than a dozen locations in Maine.
