The project will combine five parcels on North Colony Road (Route 5) into two, with the Execu- tive Kia lot adding pieces of surrounding proper- ties, including a portion of the adjacent Executive Honda dealership. The Honda dealership will remain in place. Executive Kia is located at 1164 North Colony Road, while Executive Honda is at 1194 North Colony Road. The other parcels affected include 1174, 1180 and 1192 North Colony Road. All are owned by the Executive Auto Group, led by John Orsini. The project will demolish the existing 11,000-square-foot Executive Kia building that includes a showroom and service bays, and replace it with a 24,000-square-foot, state-of- the-art structure, the auto dealer said. Edward Fox, president and CEO of Sound Federal, said the Cheshire property, at 219 South Main St., will house a full-service lending subsid- iary (FSMG Lending Services) that will provide consumer, real estate, leasing, credit card and auto lending services. It will also feature a full-ser- vice drive-thru kiosk supported by video tellers. The credit union, with $128.9 million in assets, has just shy of 10,000 members and branches in Norwalk, Wilton, Westport and Stamford. It offers membership to all who live, work or go to school in Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield counties, Fox said. The credit union has plans to open additional full-service branches in Stamford, Cheshire and Milford, Fox said. SOUTHINGTON A Southington Town Council member and his father/business partner are exploring development scenarios for 34 acres of undeveloped industrial land they recently purchased for $900,000. Jack Perry and his father, Kurt J. Holyst, are the principals of a limited liability company that bought the large industrially zoned property at 682 Curtiss St., from the estate of Charles S. Borysewicz, of Wolcott, in a sale logged Feb. 9. Holyst also serves in town government, as a member of Southington's Building Appeals Board. David Theroux, principal of Drubner Commer- cial, brokered the deal for the buyers and seller. The large site is constrained by a lack of direct access to public sewer and water utilities. The buyers say they are exploring the best possible uses for the property, which borders Interstate 84 on its eastern edge. One possibility, Perry said, is subdividing the property into three roughly equal parts for sale. The plan will ultimately depend on talks with town officials and potential users. Industrial land is in such high demand that discussions are already underway with "a lot" of potential users, Perry said. Holyst and Perry were partners in waste hauler HQ Dumpsters and Recycling, based in South- ington. They recently sold the company to Plain- ville-based waste hauler CWPM LLC, which has kept Perry on in a management capacity. WEST HARTFORD Elmwood Community Church, a congregational church affiliated with the United Church of Christ, has listed its building on Newington Road in West Hartford for sale. The property, including a 13,060-square-foot building and 0.86 acres, is located behind CVS on New Britain Avenue and has been listed by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties for $1.1 million. Kristen Gorski, West Hartford's economic development coordinator, said town staff spoke with the real estate agent before the church, at 24 Newington Road, was listed for sale, and was told that Elmwood Community Church had made the decision to sell because its number of parishioners has been dwindling for years. The listing describes the property as ideal "for a myriad of uses, including another church, school, day care or even a veterinary clinic."
