MTI is Maine's unique public- private partnership that helps cata- lyze innovation. We offer early-stage capital and commercialization assis- tance in the form of grants, loans and equity investments, as well as entre- preneurial guidance and mentorship, to achieve our core mission. In addition to investments made directly into private companies, research organizations and educational enti- ties, MTI also works to ensure that a complementary system of supports exists for entrepreneurs and businesses to make certain that they have access to the assistance they need to succeed. We do this by promoting entrepreneur- ship and interest in science, technol- ogy, engineering, and mathematics by supporting things like the Maine Cen- ter for Entrepreneur's Top Gun busi- ness accelerator program, the Big Gig pitch competition in Bangor, Green- light Maine, Entrepreneurship for All, Junior Achievement, the Maine State Science Fair, and the Maine Science Festival, to name just a few. We also recently expanded our programming at MTI by launching the Maine Entrepreneurial Resource Corps. is program matches Maine start-ups with reliable, affordable consultants to help address short- term, high-impact projects that will contribute to a company's long-term growth plan. MTI will pick up the tab for 50% of the cost of approved projects, making it a win-win for the entrepreneur and the resource provider. More information can be found here: mainetechnology.org/ mti-funding/merc. Finally, our statute requires that we help Maine individuals and com- panies interested in attracting a piece of the $4 billion that the federal gov- ernment doles out annually in research and development funding. MTI pro- vides free technical assistance and guidance to Mainers to help them develop competitive federal fund- ing applications. We hope you enjoy the 2024 Mainebiz Innovation Hub. If MTI can ever be of assistance, please call us at 582-4790 or visit our website at mainetechnology.org. — Brian Whitney President Maine Technology Institute MTI helping catalyze innovation in Maine REACH OUT TO US AT CIRCULATION@MAINEBIZ.BIZ FOR A QUOTE We offer discounted group subscriptions starting at 5 users.
