ART Engineering: Building a Better Future W hen Azim Rawji founded ART Engineering in 2002, he aimed to provide energy efficient electrical design services to the entire New England market. During the last 18 years, his mission has exceeded expectations. ART Engineering offers state-of-the-art electrical, telecommunications and low voltage consulting and design services to customers in the commercial, educational, health care and public sector markets. e firm also designs integrated security systems with centralized access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection systems. e company has grown since its inception and now has two engineers, a master electrician, seven designers and support professionals. Additionally, the firm provides solar photovoltaic design services. ART Engineering delivered engineering and grid interconnection designs for a 791.2kW system at South High School and a 345.44kW system at Nelson Place School in Worcester, MA. Furthermore, ART Engineering has adopted the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM). According to Rawji, this technological tool allows users to look at a building in 3-D, facilitating a more efficient way to plan and design buildings and infrastructure. ART Engineering uses the latest version of RevitĀ® MEP. In 2006, ART Engineering began, and continues, a professional relationship with LPA|A. Many of their collaborative projects involve schools, including the Sherwood Middle School, Auburn Middle School, Mountview Middle School, Nelson Place Elementary School, South High School and Doherty High School. Rawji reported that working with LPA|A has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. "LPA|A is so responsive to those of us in the engineering field. Our design process goes very smoothly," he said. "e combination of ART and LPA|A is a good example of teamwork. We complement each other very well."
