28 Visit us at yankeespirits.com Bollinger "Special Cuvee" Brut, Champagne France With the shortage of Champagne this holiday season, we have deemed Bollinger as our "go to" Champagne. Wine Enthusiast rated 92 points and described as "Dominated, as always, by Pinot Noir and with wood fermentation and aging, this Champagne has a great poise between freshness and richness. It is intense and ripe, with apple and minerality coming together." – Roger Voss, December 2020 Domaine Gerard Duplessis 2017 Chablis, France Antonio Galloni "Vinous" rated 89- 91 points: "Since there is no Petit Chablis, I started my tasting chez Duplessis with the 2017 Chablis that sees no wood contact. It has a pretty lemon thyme and cold flint bouquet. The palate is well balanced, plenty of lees at the moment (this cuvées remained on the lees until end of April) with a clean and precise, very "traditional" finish. Very fine." - Neal Martin, August 2018 Chateau Beauchene "Grande Reserve" Rouge 2018 Chateauneuf-du-Pape, France Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated 92 points: "A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Grande Reserve matured in a mix of tanks and barrels. Made from the estate's oldest Châteauneuf-du-Pape vines, it's impressively dark in color, yet not hugely expressive on the nose, showing just hints of red raspberries, cherries, and orange zest. In the mouth, it's full-bodied and reasonably rich, with a velvety feel and some real concentration apparent on the lingering, spice-tinged finish." - Joe Czerwinski, October 2020 Chateau Puygueraud 2018 Francs - Cotes de Bordeaux, France Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated 89 points: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Puygueraud (85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec) sings of kirsch, redcurrant jelly and blackberry preserves with hints of baked plums, black truffles and tapenade. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers bags of energetic red and black berry layers, supported by plush tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and lifted." – Lisa Perrotti-Brown, April 2021. Domaine de Pouy Blanc 2020 Cotes de Gascogne, France Wine Maker notes: The cold fermentation of Ugni Blanc from the Bas-Armagnac region captures vibrant aromatics and guards freshness. The wine has a penetrating floral green apple fragrance, and is loaded with refreshingly crisp and flavorful fruit. The wines are made using skin contact and kept cold for four to six hours in order to extract the maximum aromatics and preserve bright fruit flavors. 60% Ugni Blanc, 40% Colombard Domaine le Clos des Lumieres "L'eclat" Rose 2020 Cotes du Rhone, France Winemaker notes: Cherry and strawberry flavors dominate, with hints of spiciness, and the finish is full of flint and pink grapefruit. Complex and delicious as an aperitif or with a meal, and at an unbeatable price. - Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre. Chateau Lancyre "Clos des Combes" Rouge 2019 Pic Saint- Loup, France Winemaker notes: Composed of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache grown in limestone soil. The nose is very expressive. Aromas of fresh grapes, cherries and bay leaves are presents. The palate is delicate and light. We find fruit aromas and notes of menthol. The tannins are silky and the aromatic persistence is remarkable. Serve with Mushroom Risotto or Chicken Coconut Curry. Nivarius Tempranillo Blanco 2019 Rioja, Spain Nivarius is a 100% Tempranillo Blanco from vineyards at an elevation of over 700 meters, resulting in a fresh, unctuous and perfectly ripe wine that is both lively and pleasant to drink. Straw-yellow in color with a with greenish rim. Good intensity on the nose, hints of pome and stone fruits accompanied by subtle aromas of white flowers and minerals. Fresh and well-balanced on the palate with stone fruit flavors, dry fruits, and a long finish. Proelio "vinedos viejos" Garnacha 2017 Rioja, Spain A 100% Garnacha from 80-year-old vines and very old clones, grown in of small vineyards in the Alto Najerilla region with clay-ferrous soils in Cárdenas. A structured, complex, and aromatic red laden with dark fruit notes, which are characteristic of how Garnacha ripens in these soils. Unctuous, silky and complex. JamesSuckling.com rated 92 points, noting "Very pretty, old-vine garnacha with dried strawberry, light vanilla and some floral undertones, such as roses. It's medium-to full-bodied, layered and firm. Fresh finish. Drink now." - James Suckling Vina Robles "The Arborist" Estate Red 2019 Paso Robles, California Wilfred Wong of Wine.com rated 89 points: "The 2019 Vina Robles Arborist Red Blend is a reward in itself. This wine shines with aromas and flavors of finely woven black fruits. Enjoy it with savory beef stew." Tasted: July 8, 2021 A blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Tannat from estate vineyards.
