"at's as much for me as it is for employees. I worry about the crazy amount of money people want to be paid and I know from the past that I will not be able to offer benefits until I can get over the $1.5 million." Bam Bam Bakery has been on a rollercoaster for the past few years. Cromwell purchased the business in 2017 and steadily increased sales. Until 2020, the bakery did business on Commercial Street in Portland. During that time, it became a staple for the gluten-free community. In 2019, she planned to open a pro- duction kitchen, away from Commercial Street, allowing for more wholesale and retail business and hopefully some prod- uct shipping. But the pandemic put a hard stop to those plans. Eventually, unable to pay the $7,000 monthly rent on the space, Cromwell decided to close her bakery doors in 2020. Portland, ME | 207.773.7100 | dunhamgroup.com Bringing a Bright Vision to a Building's Next Chapter When a building goes on the market, it's an opportunity for someone to bring a bold vision for what comes next. Tim and Sharon Sanfino, working with broker Chris Craig, saw a chance to build an inspiring next chapter for an underutilized building on Ocean Street in South Portland. Bolstered by Craig's market insight, the Sanfinos envisioned a trio of high-caliber restaurants and wanted to find the right tenants. Broker Sam LeGeyt was working with SoPo Seafood Co-Founder Lucas Myers to find a location that would contribute to the success of his business. The Ocean Street building was perfect and Myers was excited to create a neighborhood gathering spot. Our clients benefit from the combined resources of our team of brokers.
