Horgan is a 2005 graduate of Saint John's and present- ly serves as foun- dation director of Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools in Baltimore, according to a Nov. 20 press release from the Shrews- bury all-boys day school. Zequeira has been headmaster at the school since 2016. His impending depar- ture from the school was announced by the school in May. "I am truly humbled to return home to Saint John's and serve as its next head of school. I am blessed to have experienced firsthand the transformational impact of a Saint John's education. e Xaverian Brothers, faculty, and staff I had as a student inspired me to devote my life to Catholic education and helped me form a strong foundation of faith, service, and leadership that I have carried with me throughout my life," Horgan said in the press release. Horgan holds a bachelor's degree from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, a master's degree in theological studies from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, and a doctorate in education from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Boston Scientific closes $850M acquisition of back pain treatment tech firm Marlborough medical device and technology firm Boston Scientific has completed its acquisition of a Minneso- ta-based medical company and its chron- ic low back pain treatment technology. Boston Scientific announced the planned acquisition of Relievant Medsys- tems in September, anticipating an early 2024 close on the transaction. "e revolutionary therapy from Re- lievant has tremendous potential to help even more people living with chronic pain," Jim Cassidy, president of neuro- modulation at Boston Scientific, said in a Nov. 17 press release. "e completion of this acquisition further differentiates our position in advanced interventional chronic pain, offering physicians the broadest selection of evidence-based treatment options that address multiple pain targets and change patients' lives." e acquisition included an $850-mil- lion cash payment and undisclosed contingent payments based on sales performance. e transaction is expected to have an immaterial impact on share value for Boston Scientific. e Relievant Medsystems technolo- gy uses a nerve ablation system to treat vertebrogenic pain, a form of chronic low back pain. Boston Scientific's pain treatment portfolio additionally includes spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequen- cy ablation and an interspinous spacer procedure. e Relievant technology is the only U.S. Food and Drug Admin- istration-cleared treatment of its kind, according to the press release. New coworking offices planned for Worcester, Leominster, Southborough International Workplace Group, a company based in Luxembourg special- izing in opening and managing co-work- ing offices, plans to open up several new co-working spaces in Massachusetts, including two in Worcester, one in Southborough, and one in Leominster. e company intends on opening eight workspace centers across the state, including locations at 287 Grove St. and 370 Main St. in Worcester, as well as locations at 3 Park St. in Leominster and 257 Turnpike Road in Southborough, according to a Nov. 15 press release. e Worcester and Southborough locations will operate under IWG's Regus brand, while the Leominster location will be under its HQ brand. "With important business hubs across the state, Massachusetts is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans," Mark Dixon, CEO and founder of IWG, said in the press release.
