LAWYERS IN MAINE BY COUNTY

As Laurie Schreiber reports in the Law focus section, Maine
Law's program to cultivate rural lawyers is still in the early
stages, though it has had initial success. As this chart shows,
it's been a daunting challenge to build the ranks of lawyers in
Maine's least populated counties. While Cumberland County
(including the Portland area) dominates the count, with 1,220
lawyers, Piscataquis County, which includes Dover-Foxcroft,
has just eight total lawyers.
