I admired my college sponsor, Joan Bok. She was chairperson of New England Electric at a time when women in that type of leadership role and business was rare. She believed and provided me an opportunity to showcase my skills and eagerness to work hard. What are the main obstacles women face to success in the workplace? Limiting ourselves in not advancing because we think we don't have the right qualifications or we are too afraid of being rejected. Even a rejection can be a learning moment. What advice would you give to young women joining the workforce? Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and don't worry if you don't know exactly where you're headed at the start of your career. You will figure it out along the way, as long as you take advantage of opportunities.
