Who's career would you most like to emulate? The women who paved the way for me: Gloria
Steinem, Betty Friedan, Angela Davis, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, to name a
few. They were pioneers in their time, challenging what was the norm in the 1950s and '60s and
never letting up even in the face of defeat. My fear is that young women don't understand how
hard of a fight it was and think the fight is over, but as we have seen over the last few years, the
fight never ends.
What are the main obstacles women face to success in the workplace? Funding is a
problem. If you don't have the cash, you can't build a company.
What advice would you give to a woman just entering the workforce? Find a mentor and
listen to her. Someone sharing 40 years of experience could save you a lot of time and mistakes.
