Prior to joining Well- Spark as chief growth officer, Campbell was a senior HR leader. What have been your biggest professional accomplishments over the past year? I led the restructuring of our business to prepare for future planned growth while maintaining the highest-quality service to our existing clients. I also supported a couple of employ- ees who were experiencing challenging situations outside of work. Bringing my 'human' to the moment as a leader is one of my greatest accomplishments. In what ways are you involved in the community? In addition to teaching yoga and Qi Gong classes weekly in my community, I am a member of the steering committee for the CT Collaborative to End Loneliness and a proud supporter of the Jordan Porco Foundation. On the job Guiding business prin- ciple: Always bring my human to the moment. Best way to keep your competitive edge: Kindness, consistently asking 'what are we solving for?' Best business decision: Changing careers from HR leadership to busi- ness leadership. Worst business decision: Hiring someone when my gut screamed 'don't do it!' Biggest missed opportunity: Getting my Ph.D. while I was still in 'school mode' (many, many moons ago). Goal yet to be achieved: Writing a book Personal touch in your office: Sign that says 'Logout. Shutdown. Do Yoga.' Personal side City of residence: Southington Favorite way to relax: Yoga B rian Montanari is president and chief executive officer of Habco Industries, which provides ground support equipment and tooling to the aerospace aftermarket industry. Montanari's roots of starting his career on the shop floor at e Wiremold Co. shine through as he is an active, hands-on leader with a passion for contin- uous improvement and building a positive culture. What have been your biggest professional accomplishments over the past year? My 16-year Habco career has been dedicated to finding better ways to meet the demanding needs of our customers, while simultaneously providing a fulfilled work-life balance for our employees and significantly increas- ing the enterprise value of the business for our investors. In 2023, we launched another busi- ness unit that will represent 50% growth, further diversifying us into the aerospace aftermarket. Additionally, we simultane- ously achieved record market feedback surveys from our customers, and the highest results of our employee surveys. In what ways are you involved in the community? I served as a church youth group advisor, volunteered in youth sports and have been an adjunct professor at Eastern Connecticut State University. I held multiple board positions at various nonprofits and trade associations, and currently serve on the executive committee and board of directors for the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. On the job Guiding business princi- ple: Hire people smarter than me and then dedi- cate myself to removing roadblocks that get in their way. Best way to keep your competitive edge: I get up and work out early in the morning, and then mentally prepare and plan my day before getting to work. Best business decision: Leaving a great job, responsible for 14 facilities in nine countries and taking a significant reduction in compensation to work for Habco, which was a small, single-site, 20-person company at the time.
