It's an absolute honor to get to work at such a reputable, mission- driven organization. Passion project: My two boys, ages 4 and 6, are my pas- sion project. Spending time with them and trying to see the world through their eyes helps to continually refine my worldview. Audacious goal: In my work, my goal is to ensure the future of Life- Flight's promise to the people and visitors of Maine that in their time of need, we will do all we can to be there for them. In my personal life, my goal is to raise my children as kind, free-thinkers who want to do their small part to make the world a better place. But without it, we go nowhere." — Carl Sagan Influential book: "The Ser- vant: A Simple Story About the True Essence of Leadership," by James Hunter Favorite movies or TV shows: "Ted Lasso," "Inglourious Basterds," "Air- plane," "Shawshank Redemption," "Apollo 13," and "Top Gun" (the original) How do you recharge: I enjoy cycling and traveling and it's an added bonus when I can combine the two. In addition, Maine has so much to offer in all seasons. I like to just disconnect. Outdoor lover advocates for an industry whose time has come Jenny Kordick, 36 Executive director, Maine Outdoor Brands Significant profes- sional accomplish- ment: Being able to do the work that I do while living in Maine. It feels unreal at times that I have landed in this spot. The entrepre- neurs and individu- als in Maine's out- door industry are some of the best and most inspiring people I've ever met, and I am so thankful I get to work with them. Maine Outdoor Brands is now recog- nized nationally as a model for more than 15 other states that have formed similar outdoor busi- ness alliances in recent years, and it feels like we're just getting started. Passion project: I've been fortu- nate to have a career focused on things I'm passionate about — outdoor access and sustainability being top among them. Recently I helped start Maine GearShare, a gear library and gear repair service based in Brunswick available for groups and individuals. Maine Outdoor Brands is also advocating for passage of the Maine Trails Bond — a $30 million investment in the design, development and maintenance of trails for outdoor recreation statewide. I was able to testify in support of the initiative this spring, and we're hopeful to see it passed in the next legislative session. Audacious goal: My biggest goal is to stay happy and keep doing work that I'm proud of and that further con- nects me to my community and to nature. I try to get in my sea kayak as much as I can, and I love spend- ing time with my friends and fam- ily anywhere outside. My background and education is in speech-language pathology, and I spe- cialized for the first part of my career in communication therapy for kids with com- plex special needs. My mom and I decided to go into business together in 2018 and it was a moment of, "We have to try it or we'll regret it." While it was a very hard decision walking away from a career I loved, it was an equally hard challenge to learn how to run a business for the first time. Audacious goal: To help as many people and families as possible fall in love with our blankets. To make ChappyWrap the brand and product people think of when they think of cozy, comfort and home. Passion project: I love finding ways to do good through our business and products.
