Kasparis has worked 26 years in the financial services sector, most recently as vice president and branch manager at JPMorgan Chase in Fairfield. Architecture and engineering firm BL Cos. Inc. has hired Amy Samu- elson as executive director of archi- tecture and building engineering. Samuelson, who is part of the senior leadership team, will be responsible for managing the teams involved in all vertical construction, and the systems within them. She has over 25 years of experience as a project architect and manager with a portfolio that includes notable public, independent and higher education projects. Law firm Murtha Cullina has expanded its tax practice with the addition of Ryan E. Dunn. Dunn provides U.S. tax advice to businesses and individuals, partic- ularly in cross-border activities and transactional matters. He specializes in domestic tax guidance to partner- ships, corporations, S corps and their respective owners. Cheshire-based promotional prod- ucts company Barker Specialty has announced several recent promotions. Sara Pajor has joined Barker Specialty as its first human resources manager. Alex D. Bowen has been promoted to director of sales after being with the company for over a decade. Amy Serrano has been promoted to the new position of chief revenue officer. Chelsea Fishman has been promoted to director of marketing. Naugatuck-based Ion Bank recently announced a new hire and a promotion. Diane M. Dornfried has been hired as a vice presi- dent, mortgage orig- inator. Dornfried will primarily support the Meriden and South- ington markets, assisting customers looking to purchase, refinance or get a home equity line of credit. She most recently was a mortgage originator for Collinsville Bank. Kalim Jan has been promoted to senior vice president, treasurer. Jan will be responsible for investment portfolio management, interest rate risk anal- ysis and will serve as a member of the asset liability committee. Jan has been employed at Ion since 2013, starting as a credit analyst and then taking on higher positions within the company. The American Hospital Associ- ation (AHA) has elected eight new members to its board of trustees, including Kurt Barwis, president and CEO of Bristol Health. Barwis has been with Bristol Health for the past 17 years. He is also a member of AHA's advisory group on hospitals against violence, and served as a delegate of the AHA regional policy board from 2019 to 2021. He will serve a three-year board term that begins Jan. 1. The board of trustees is the highest policymaking body of the AHA Cheshire digital marketing agency Rebel Interactive Group has hired two new C-suite leaders: Bryan Czaj- kowski as chief operating officer and Steve McLoughlin as vice president of strategic marketing and impact. Czajkowski's hire represents his return to the company. He previ- ously worked at Rebel as vice president of technical strategy, and later, chief technology officer. McLoughlin also returns to Rebel after a previous six-year tenure with the company. During his previous time at Rebel, he served as vice president of marketing strategy and digital innovation, and later as a higher education practice lead. He returns to Rebel after working as director of marketing of Connecticut Wealth Management.
