2024 GOALS As MCH enters its 125th year in 2024, the organization will continue to evolve with the changing needs of Maine families and children through its programs in adoption, counseling, young-parent support, winter assistance and caregiver resources. e secret to MCH's longevity is its ability to evolve with community. MCH will also continue to develop and integrate trauma-informed approaches into its programs and practices, promoting a greater sense of safety for all – clients and staff. e organization is commit- ted to expanding the reach of its family and client-focused resources through educational opportunities in the com- munity and with community partners. MCH's Connected Families Project, for example, will continue to offer resources, workshops and training on issues most important and relevant to Maine parents, adolescents, teachers and caregivers. MCH serves more than 3,000 people through its five core programs: f Family Adoption Program f Family Counseling Center f Journey Program f Connected Families Project f Christmas Program FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES MCH supporters across the state raise resources for the MCH mission – to build and strengthen families and their children – including the Friends of Maine Children's Home (the Friends). The Friends is an organization focused on raising funds and providing volunteers to support MCH programs, holding a Lobster Roll Lunch fundraiser each fall and engaging volunteers to support the annual Christmas Program. e MCH staff and board members plan the following events annually: f Annual Meeting and Celebration in January f Summer Fun for Good raffle in summer months f Community Block Party in August Corporate support is essential to meeting annual needs. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES MCH welcomes charitable gifts and donations that meet personal and corporate philanthropic and legacy-building goals. f Individualized legacy gift and planned giving, such as: bequests, appreciated securities, charitable distributions, charitable trusts, real estate, etc. f Sponsorships of MCH programs and events, which offer sponsors broad exposure with promotions on the MCH website and marketing materials. f Annual, quarterly or monthly donations, which support the more than 3,000 Maine people receiving services from MCH each year. Donations can also be designated to support specific MCH programs. f In-kind donations of new books, warm clothing, boots, board games, batteries and toys, which are needed to meet all the needs of winter gift boxes for children across Maine through MCH's Christmas Program. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES MCH typically welcomes volunteers from local schools, colleges, civic clubs and businesses to complete activities and projects for MCH programs.
