The Maine Department of Health and Human Services Office of Behavioral Health awarded Maine Behavioral Healthcare in South Portland $1.3 million to provide substance use treat- ment in 10 Maine counties for people identified through the Treatment and Recovery Court process. The orga- nization is collaborating with Maine Pretrial Services Inc., which provides case management in each of Maine's Treatment Recovery Courts. Everest Recovery Centers opened an opioid treatment center at 16 Association Drive in Manchester. The Maine Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Hallowell said it received a $40,000 donation from You Never Walk Alone Inc. in South Berwick to advances its mission of providing all Mainers mental health support, education and advocacy. Maja Fleur Inc. in Lewiston purchased Dube's Flower Shop at 195 Lisbon St. in Lewiston. Franklin Savings Bank's Community Development Foundation said it awarded a total of $51,000 in college scholarships in 2023 to 21 students from 11 local high schools and four technical centers. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust employees awarded a total of $22,000 in dona- tions collected through the Bank's employee-driven charitable giving program, Casual for a Cause, to seven nonprofit organizations serving Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont residents.
