Little progress on DEI efforts Businesses' efforts to increase their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives have had varying degrees of success and challenges over the last three years, since the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor sparked a national reckoning on race. Some companies achieved long-term change while others had their initiatives fall by the wayside. When polled online, of the WBJ readers whose companies undertook DEI initiatives in the last three years, only a third said they've achieved substantial progress.
