Attorneys selected for admission are consid- ered to be the best environmental lawyers in each state or jurisdiction of the U.S., exhibiting substantial experience in environmental law for at least 15 years. U.S. News & World Report named Maine Medical Center in Portland as "Best Regional Hospital" in Maine for 2023-2024 for an 11th straight year. e hospital was also rated as high performing in 13 common pro- cedures and conditions as well as in the specialty of urology. e report also named Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland as a high per- forming hospital for back surgery, hip replacement and knee replace- ment, the highest distinction a hospital can earn for "Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions" ratings. The Portland Water District was recog- nized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies with its "2022 Peak Performance Award" for the Cape Elizabeth Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Westbrook/ Gorham Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility. e district also announced that Moody's Investment Services confirmed its credit rating of Aa3 water bonds, Aa1 wastewater bonds, citing a well-managed district with sound debt service coverage, man- ageable debt profile and very strong liquidity. Kate Dickerson, executive director of the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor, was selected as one of six inaugural liaisons for the American Association for the Advancement of Science Local Science Engagement Network.
