HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | AUGUST 21, 2023 A17 2023 | 40 UNDER FORTY Marcus J. Steinle is the chief executive officer of Change Inc., a mental, behavioral and elder care service provider based out of Middletown. Steinle joined the Change Inc team in 2013 as the business manager. Since that time, he has filled numerous roles within the com- pany as an operational and financial leader. After 14 years of operation, Change Inc now serves over 200 clients throughout the state and has over 300 employees. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My greatest professional accomplishment is having had a hand in the growth and devel- opment of our administrative leadership. Many of our employees have been with us for several years, of which I have either hired directly or supervised. Consistent investment in our people promotes positive change and advancements throughout our organization and community. How are you involved in the community? I have been involved in community activities all my life. At our organization, it is important to me that we remain involved with agencies such as our local chambers of commerce, United Way, Autism Services & Resources Connecticut and the Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home, to name a few. What do you like to do outside of work? Boredom is a state of mind that I am rarely plagued with. You can find me cycling around Middletown and surrounding areas, always looking for a new trail. I enjoy playing the piano and making music, catching the latest movies and shows or being away on my next travel adventure. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • My direct involvement in shaping our infrastructure has increased community impact and clients served. • My journey began when I was 24 years old, and from then to now I have not faltered in my dedication or investment at Change Inc. • My management style is founded on mentorship; I have inspired many col- leagues and associates to strive towards unlocking their truest potential. • I am constantly in motion; I am in the field, at our facilities and face-to-face with clients and staff daily. With over 16 years of industry experience, John Troiano serves as section manager of the stakeholder management group, and as project manager in support of several large energy projects for Burns & McDonnell's Northeast Environmental Group. Holding a master's degree in construction management, his experience includes project management, construction oversight, project outreach, change management and more. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? As section manager, I am most proud of the growth I've helped drive for my department and company. Within the last five years, I have grown a team of four community outreach and environmental professionals in the Northeast region to 30, a 650% increase from where we began. How are you involved in the community? I participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a 192-mile bike ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown, Mass., with our team raising over $220,000 for cancer research. I'm an advocate for the United Way, where our company raised over $158,000 in 2022, and contributed to the company's 2022 United Way campaign donation of $4.4 million. What do you like to do outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, taking part in my kids' sporting events and being an active member of my towns' boards and commissions. I also enjoy biking for fun and in preparation for the charity bike ride that I participate in annually. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • I have been named a Community Ambassador Contributor by United Way for my contributions over the years. • I have grown my team of community out- reach and environmental professionals from four to 30 employees, a 650% increase within five years. • I have been named an associate at Burns & McDonnell – a title requiring board of directors approval. • In my career, I have successfully man- aged over 20 projects that support the northeast's critical infrastructure.
