McGloin's career in higher education spans 17-plus years, including engagements with over 10,000 learners and 35 publications. His research is focused on effective communication training and development programs, as well as examining the impact of communication training in entrepre- neurial accelerator programs. McGloin is also the founder and president of RPM Communication Consulting, a full-ser- vice business communication firm aimed at helping business leaders develop their professional communication skills. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Launching RPM Communication Consulting represents many facets of my personal and professional growth. I believe communication is a critical value for sustained organizational success, and RPM has provided the oppor- tunity to share that with others. We've been fortunate to support many state organizations and we're excited for what the future holds. How are you involved in the community? As the son of Irish-immigrants that settled in Hartford, I've dedicated my time sharing traditions with the next generation of Irish- Americans. I'm involved in the Hartford Gaelic Athletic Association, serving various leader- ship roles. In 2021, my teammates and I won the Northeast GAA Championship. In 2022, I founded CT's first Ladies Gaelic Football. With experience in both union and non-union labor environments, she focuses on aligning care quality practices with Medicare and Medicaid Services expec- tations, utilizing technology to champion center business processes and a constant focus on clinical quality and profitability. I led efforts through part- nerships with local government to transition a town into a Dementia Friendly Community. This effort was honored by the Governor for bridging the gap in senior care continuum. How are you involved in the community? I have daily involvement in both the health- care and non-healthcare spectrum, including The Alzheimer's Association, various women's leadership groups and partnerships with local hospitals. I lead the Genesis Health Equality and Equity project, which promotes and brings equal representation and opportuni- ties for all groups regardless of psychosocial, race, gender or economic barriers. What do you like to do outside of work? When not working, my priority is my three young daughters, my husband, my dogs and chickens. I enjoy reading and have a goal of reading three novels per month. I am currently reading 'West with Giraffes' and enjoy family time at the beach and traveling to Michigan to visit family. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Succeeded in increasing profitability, health equality and employee retention. • Recipient of the Friends of Education Award for partnership with school districts to create career ladders for high school students. • Represented one of the first facilities to create specialized care for COVID-19 patients. • Humanizing health care through compassion, drive and willingness to listen and walk in others' shoes. Humbled to have gone through COVID, allowing us to see the importance of health care and the lives we impact.
