Doran is a co-chair for Hartford HealthCare's Hispanic/Latinx Colleague Resource & Providers and Allies Network Groups. Doran is on the board of directors and foundation board vice- chair for the Hispanic Health Council, where she recently received their 2023 Emerging Leader of the Year award. She enjoys teaching, mento- ring and has a strong passion for advocacy. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My biggest accomplishment at Hartford HealthCare has been the work I support with our Hispanic/Latinx Colleague Resource and Providers and Allies Network Groups. Building the framework, collaboration of Hispanic/ Latinx colleagues across our system to improve and promote culturally competent health care with focus on enhanced resources for our Spanish-speaking patient populations. How are you involved in the community? I use my positive attitude, enthusiasm and drive to mentor other leaders to develop personally and professionally. In my advocacy work on the Hispanic Health Council and Hartford HealthCare, it is my personal mission to be a trailblazer in driving sustainable change in bettering our communities and improving health inequality. What do you like to do outside of work? My two children, Oliva and Carter, are my pride and joy. Everything I do is for them. Outside of work, I'm always on the sidelines at one of their games or sports events being their biggest cheerleader. I also enjoy being by the water with a great book in hand. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • My ongoing efforts and commitment to promote equity and address health dispar- ities of vulnerable communities through research and sponsorship. • My advocacy for those disadvantaged patients to endorse the importance of incorporating cultural aspects into their plan of care. • The work I lead and ongoing efforts in mentoring healthcare leaders and Latinas in leadership to advance their careers. • My partnership, work efforts and successful fundraising to support the Hispanic Health Council new build-out of a wellness center. He counsels health systems, providers and nonprofit organizations on transactions, regulatory matters and governance, and represents clients in administrative matters. Duffy is also a member of the firm's Data Privacy + Security Team, and regularly pro- vides guidance to healthcare organizations on HIPAA, state privacy laws and other data privacy and security issues. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Our healthcare group represented a longtime client in its creation of a regional integrated health system. This included a first-of-its-kind set of regulatory approvals in multiple states, and establishment of a governance structure to enable the system to align hospitals and providers across various service communities. How are you involved in the community? I serve on the New Haven Legal Assistance Association Board. As a member of its bylaws committee, I led a comprehensive update of the organization's bylaws. I also serve on the board of First Choice Health Centers, a community health clinic in East Hartford that provides services to vulner- able communities. What do you like to do outside of work? I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids, a 3.5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. When I have a moment, I enjoy reading spy fiction — Len Deighton and le Carre are favorites. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Dedicated to communities where I work and live, devoting significant time to board responsibilities and performing pro bono services. • Widely published and read thought leader in health care and awarded editor of Robinson+Cole's Health Law Diagnosis blog. • Well-known healthcare attorney in Connecticut, recently named New Leader in the Law. • Committed mentor to young lawyers and law students.
