16 Giving Guide 2023 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com FUTURE GOALS 1. Our agency remains steadfast in our commitment to addressing homelessness and will continue our efforts to provide housing solutions for individuals and families in transition. 2. We want to establish a bigger footprint with our Homecare program, particularly in Northern Worcester County. CCWC has recently opened a new Gardner Homecare Office. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals requiring daily assistance in the comfort of their own homes. 3. We are actively establishing and expanding partnerships with other human service agencies. By combining our resources and expertise, we can create a more integrated and comprehensive approach to serving the Worcester County community. 4. Understanding the need to bridge the gap between education and employment, we will work more closely with higher education institutions. By forging strong relationships, we can create internships and work opportunities for recent graduates. 5. CCWC aims to stock more culturally competent foods, catering to those with diverse preferences. We will actively work on addressing inadequate access to nutritious food, particularly for those with specific dietary requirements. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES Host a drive: Our community members need school supplies, diapers, clothing, hygiene items, and non-perishable food items. Sponsor the Bishop's Dinner: Join us in supporting the Bishop's Holiday Dinner Programs, a longstanding initiative providing warmth, companionship, and nourishing meals to those spending anksgiving and Christmas alone. Our success in 2022, distributing over 6,500 meals, was made possible by the dedication of 1,300 CCWC volunteers and staff. You can contribute by considering becoming a sponsor for these events. By sponsoring, you'll gain visibility and recognition, while making a difference in the lives of housebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. Additionally, we welcome generous donations, both monetary and in-kind, for our events. With more seniors choosing to age in their own homes, the demand for this service is increasing. Be a part of our mission to bring joy and nourishment during the holidays. Together, through sponsorship and participation, we can make a meaningful impact on the Greater Worcester community. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Annual appeals to the Bishop's Dinners on anksgiving and Christmas Capital campaign donation for the new Mercy Centre facilities. Your contribution will help us create a safe and modern space to better serve the participants and enhance the quality of our program. Make a donation: Please consider supporting our organization's efforts to serve Worcester County by making a donation to our various programs. ese programs include emergency stabilization, homeless prevention services, immigration assistance, substance use recovery, and employment programs like the Senior Community Service Employment Program. We believe in taking a comprehensive approach to address the underlying causes of socioeconomic insecurity, while also providing case management support to empower individuals and families towards self-sufficiency. Unfortunately, this year we are experiencing a greater demand for our services due to factors such as inflation, job insecurity, and the conclusion of extended COVID-19 SNAP benefits. You can contribute by sending a check or visiting ccworc.com/ donate. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES We welcome both individuals and groups of volunteers and have ample capacity to accommodate them within our organization. We highly value the collective effort and impact that volunteering brings, and we are committed to providing opportunities for individuals of all ages to engage in meaningful volunteer work. While there is no strict age requirement for volunteers, we kindly request that volunteers under 18 years old be accompanied by adult supervision to ensure a safe and productive experience. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities in Worcester, Leominster, Southbridge, and Milford. ese include activities such as picking up food alongside our staff at the Worcester County Food Bank, assisting directly with our food pantries, sorting donations in the clothing closet, providing dinner and companionship to families in our Family Shelter, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with painting and gardening projects, offering financial literacy support (curriculum is provided), and any other ideas that align with the specific needs of each location and the volunteers involved.
