Among EyePoint's primary developments is EYP-1901, an investigational treatment in clinical trials. The facility will increase and accelerate clinical development and later com- mercialization of the treatment, according to a Jan. 23 press release from the company. "This new facility provides us with significant manufactur- ing capacity to accelerate the clinical development and future commercial production for EYP- 1901," Nancy Lurker, CEO of EyePoint Pharmaceuticals, said in the release. The new 40,000-square- foot facility is expected to be operational by the second half of 2024, according to the release. The company's rent obligations will not begin until it has occu- pied the space. EyePoint estimates 45 employees will work at the new facility, with plans to expand as operational needs grow, according to a statement from the company. The landlord for the property is V.E.
