Ortiz has been appointed assistant vice president and banking center manager for the bank's new South Windsor office. Ortiz will serve both retail and business customers. Peter R. Sulick has been appointed mort- gage sales manager. Sulick will manage residential mortgage production as well as a team of mortgage loan consultants. Jennifer W. Yergeau has been appointed vice presi- dent of commercial and institutional banking. Yergeau manages a commercial portfolio consisting of clients located in the state of Connecticut and across all sectors, including government and nonprofits. Carolyn Gonzalez has been named M&T Bank's Community Reinvest- ment Act (CRA) officer for Connecticut. Gonzalez previously served for 15 years at Capital for Change as community and business development officer. In her new role, she will grow and support community partnerships. Gonzalez previously served as director of business and commu- nity development at the Bridgeport Economic Development Corp. and as assistant development agent at the state Department of Economic and Community Development. The Waterford Hotel Group has promoted Chris Chiappa to vice president, acquisitions and business development - East. In this role, Chiappa will seek new business for Waterford Hotel Group, including manage- ment and investment opportunities, with a concentrated effort in the eastern region of the United States. Chiappa's hospi- tality career with Waterford began in 2012 as operations manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell. His career led him to various roles with the company, including general manager, financial analyst, and, most recently, corporate director of business development. Law firm Murtha Cullina recently added a four-person team, including two attorneys, to its real estate practice. The firm has hired lawyers Adam F. Zweifler as partner and Meghan A. Hayden as counsel, and they will be part of its business and finance department and real estate practice group. Zweifler's practice includes handling commercial mortgage loans for insurance and finance companies in the commercial real estate sector. Hayden, who handles commer- cial and real estate transactions, advises clients on finance, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, loan work- outs and restructuring, construction contracts, joint ventures and other commercial transactions. Paralegal Krystal Cocolla and legal administrative assistant Erica Muzzulin, who worked with Zweifler and Hayden for years at the firm Kroll, McNamara, Evans & Delehanty LLP, have also joined Murtha Cullina. Larry Z. Slater has been appointed dean of the School of Nursing at Quinnipiac University. He will begin his new role on June 26, overseeing the school's under- graduate and graduate programs to prepare students for careers in health care. He will also work closely with faculty, staff and students to advance the school's research and scholarship initiatives. Slater is joining Quinnipiac from the University of Memphis, Loewenberg College of Nursing, where he serves as associate dean for academic programs and a clinical professor. He also served as interim dean from 2021 to 2022. Farmington corporate research and advisory firm Corbin Advi- sors announced three new senior leadership appointments. Dylan Yaworski has been promoted to the newly created role of vice president, strategy and enterprise development, where he will support corporate strategy development and execution with a focus on client expe- rience, service and solution innova- tion, and market share growth. Preston Gelman joins Corbin as vice president and head of perception study practice, leading the execution of voice of investor perception studies. Prior to Corbin, Gelman served as executive director, research, advisory and specialty solutions at S&P Global. Matthew D'Alto has been named vice president and head of research.
