National bank eyes more CT branch closures W ells Fargo, the national San Francisco-based bank with $1.4 trillion in assets, is closing more branches in Connecticut. The bank notified the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency that it will close branches in Danbury and Darien. The Danbury branch is located at 108 Mill Plain Road. It had $143 million in deposits as of June 30, 2022, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data. The Darien branch is at 950 Post Road and has $112.6 million in deposits, FDIC data shows. Overall, as of June 30, 2022, Wells Fargo had 57 branches and $9.8 billion in deposits in Connecticut. Study: CT's clean energy industry saw 4% growth during pandemic Connecticut's clean energy industry saw significant employ- ment growth in 2021, according to a recently released study by the Connecticut Green Bank. The 2022 Connecticut Clean Energy Industry Report shows that the state saw a 4% increase in employment in the clean energy sector in 2021 – the highest increase in the last five years, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The growth was led by increased employment in the alter- native transportation and solar job sectors, according to the report. Also, the state's total clean energy contributions to the Gross Regional Product metric increased by nearly 7% to $7.07 billion. Transportation, logistics services provider plans Southington expansion Transportation and logistics services company The Pyle Corp. has gained approval to expand its Aircraft Road distribution facility in Southington. The town Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans that include building and parking additions to the existing facility at 87, 149 and 185 Aircraft Road, near West Queen Street and the Quinnipiac River. Plans call for more than 35,000 square feet of new construction, including a 16,477-square- foot maintenance building; a 10,140-square-foot terminal expansion for 22 new truck docks; and a proposed renovation of an existing 8,500-square-foot mainte- nance area for 18 new docks. Also included in the plans is a multi-level 23,789-square- foot parking deck over existing parking areas. Pennsylvania-based Pyle Corp. has multiple A. Former New Britain football coach Cochran set to open CT's first cannabis delivery company Connecticut's first cannabis delivery company, owned and oper- ated by a former high-profile high school football coach and multistate operator Curaleaf, will begin service later this month after receiving final approvals from the state. Green Coach Delivery, a cannabis delivery service company founded by eight-time state championship winning high school football coach John "Jack" Cochran, announced it plans to begin operations May 25. The company, listed as Nutmeg Delivery LLC in the state's busi- ness database, is backed as an equity joint venture by Massachu- setts-based Curaleaf. In addition to Curaleaf and Cochran, Massachu- setts-based Eastbound Collective LLC, founded by former Curaleaf executive Patrik Jonsson in 2022, is listed as a principal. The company said it plans to hire 25 employees to serve customers in Hartford County initially before it expands service to Fairfield, New Haven, New London, Windham and Litchfield counties. Customers can view menus and place orders online through Green Coach's website. The products come from many of the state's adult-use and medical marijuana dispensaries. Glastonbury-based USI Consulting Group acquires Hooker & Holcombe Glastonbury-based USI Consulting Group, a national retirement-benefits brokerage firm, has acquired Hooker & Holcombe, a Bloomfield company that provides retirement services. Hooker & Holcombe was founded in 1956 and provides actuarial, investment advisory and retirement plan consulting services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. USI Consulting Group President and CEO Bill Tremko said the acquisition will strengthen USI's retirement consulting expertise throughout the country. The A.
