Marya has seen a surge in the use of AI to improve diagnosis.
Marya's original work on the topic
of pancreatic cancer models was at the
Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he said
a majority of the patients they saw were
white males over the age of 60. Due to
the regional bias of Southern Minnesota,
there were a very low number of African
Americans in the study, he said.
