26 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | MARCH 20, 2023 SPONSORED CONTENT A t Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) in Connecticut, we are on a mission to improve the health of people across Connecticut, and that is why I am excited to chair the American Heart Association Greater New Haven Heart Walk for the second year in a row. One of the most energizing parts of my role is engaging business leaders like you to join the effort to support the Association. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and stroke is the fifth leading cause. We need to meet this adversary with matched energy and vigor to better prevent, diagnose, and treat heart disease and stroke so that fewer people suffer. e Greater New Haven Heart Walk, in its 35th year, is slated to raise $360,000 and will take place at Savin Rock in West Haven (my hometown!) kicking off on Saturday, May 6th at 10 a.m. Now is the time to step up our commitment to prioritizing health, and as president of Anthem, I'm excited to bring together volunteers, survivors, and business leaders to share amazing opportunities in support of AHA here in the state. ere are many ways to get involved from joining our Executive Leadership Team, fundraising, or most simply, walking with us on May 6th. With every step you take and every dollar you raise, you are a part of the solution for a world of longer, healthier lives. If you're interested in learning more, please reach out to me. Improving health is a long-term plan, and Anthem is committed to serve as a lifetime partner in health. Our actions as a community today build a future and a legacy for Connecticut, and that's why I joined once again to Chair the Association's New Haven Heart Walk. When you support and participate in the Heart Walk, you are helping to ensure that more cardiovascular research is funded, more hospitals administer the highest standards of care and that fewer people become a statistic. And you're also doing something healthy for yourself! e American Heart Association's top priority is the health and well-being of individuals and their families today and in the future, in every community, from here to everywhere. Let's keep the momentum going as we continue to prioritize the health of Connecticut. For more information, please visit NewHavenHeartWalk.org. In good health, Lou Gianquinto Chair, New Haven Heart Walk President, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Connecticut NewHavenHeartWalk.org
