Tamara Nyce handles healthcare law, medical liability and personal injury defense, and commercial litigation. Fairfield U. names new diversity and inclusion leader Don C. Sawyer III will join Fairfield University as its new vice president of diversity, inclusion and belonging starting July 1. Sawyer was selected following a nationwide search. He will also join the Catholic university's faculty as an associate professor in its department of sociology and anthropology. Sawyer will develop and implement diversity-related initiatives, with a goal of helping all students succeed. Sawyer most recently served as vice president for equity, inclusion and leadership development at Quinnipiac University, where he also was an associate professor. Wellinks names new board member Douglas Wenners has joined the board of directors at Wellinks, a New Haven-based digital healthcare com- pany. Wellinks supports patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease through virtual care, including pulmo- nary rehabilitation, health coaching and monitoring aided by connected devices and a smartphone app. Wenners' background includes more than 25 years of experience working with health plans, and he has served as the CEO and co-founder of Prospero Health, a home-based medical care provider. Construction firm names New England leader BOND Civil & Utility Construction Inc., which has a New Haven pres- ence, has promoted Jim Comeau to the role of general superintendent, New England. Comeau has been with the company for more than 15 years, and he was one of the first employees to start in the Connecticut regional office. In his new role, Comeau will support and develop field operations teams in the southern New England market, based out of New Haven. BOND Brothers Inc. manages construction projects throughout the Northeast, and its subsidiary, BOND Civil & Utility Construction, is a gener- al contractor and construction man- agement company. Quinnipiac picks new law library director Hamden resident Jordan Jefferson is the new director of the Lynne L. Pantalena Law Library at Quinnipiac University. Jefferson is also an associate profes- sor of law. Jefferson manages the law library's services, facilities and staffing and teaches legal research. Jefferson comes to Quinnipiac from Yale Law School, where she worked for a decade. Amphenol Corp. names new board member Amphenol Corp. in Wallingford recently appointed Prahlad Singh to its 10-member board of directors. Singh is currently president and CEO of PerkinElmer, a role he has had since 2019. During his career, Singh has also had executive roles at GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, DuPont Pharmaceuticals and Bristol- Myers Squibb Medical Imaging. Amphenol manufactures electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors and interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products and coaxial and high-speed specialty cable. Its products are used in a variety of industries, such as commercial aerospace, automotive, industrial, military and mobile networks. Union Savings Bank picks new business banking VP Joseph Vereline has joined Danbury-based Union Savings Bank as vice president, head of business banking. Vereline, a Fairfield resident, will develop, manage and oversee all aspects of business banking including lending, deposit services and cross-selling activities. Vereline brings more than 12 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked at Affinity Federal Credit Union and Bank of America. Gaylord appoints new HR VP Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in Wallingford has named Mitch Podob its vice president of hu- man resources. Podob replac- es Wally Harper, who is retiring. In his new position, Podob will lead all aspects of human resources man- agement at the nonprofit rehabili- tation-focused healthcare system. Podob, an Easton resident, is the former global director of human resources, Americas, at Cooper- Surgical Inc. Podob also has led HR functions at companies in- cluding Swarovski, Timex Group, Cotiviti Corp. and Daymon World- wide Inc. Edgewell Personal Care appoints new accounting leader Edgewell Personal Care Co. — maker of personal-care products like Schick and Wilkinson Sword men's shaving blades — recently named Robert Schmidt as its new chief accounting officer. Schmidt is based in the com- pany's Shelton office and reports directly to Chief Financial Officer Dan Sullivan.
