The city of Ellsworth said that it was awarded $1.8 million of Congressionally-Directed Spending to fund upgrades to the High Street Wastewater Pump Station. Machias Savings Bank awarded a to- tal of $25,000 to five organizations in the fourth and final round of grants in its year-round "YES!" Grant program. Skowhegan Savings said it donated a total of $20,000 to 20 local non- profits as part of its second annual Season of Giving program. In total, the bank donated $350,000 to local nonprofits and community initiatives in 2022. Geiger, a promotional products dis- tributor in Lewiston, announced that it acquired Incentives by Design, a branded merchandise company in Tukwila, Wash. The Alfond Youth & Community Center in Waterville, serving the Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville, was selected by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to receive a $10,000 grant to provide ice hockey programming to central Maine youth. Ware-Butler Building Supply in Waterville said it donated $100,000 worth of vinyl siding to Habitat for Humanity that will help as many as 12 families across Maine. The Maine Connectivity Authority in Augusta announced three awards to- taling a $1 million in funding through the Jumpstart Connectivity Initiative to provide accelerated low-cost in- ternet access to some of the least served areas of the state by trialing the deployment of various innovative wireless technologies. Recipients included Outer Reach Broadband, $500,000; UScellular, $369,600 and Wireless Partners, $180,000.
