Preston C. Tis- dale, a Trumbull resident, has been an active leader with the foundation for several years. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Public Justice Foundation is involved in civil rights cases, anti-bul- lying campaigns, consumer rights, gen- der and sexual rights cases, and more. Tisdale will assume the presidency in July 2023 Frank Giner joins Union Savings Bank Frank Giner has joined Dan- bury-based Union Savings Bank as a residential mort- gage loan origina- tor. Giner will be responsible for educating existing and prospective customers about available mortgage products and guiding them throughout the lending process. Giner, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, will work out of the Dan- bury branch located at 126 North St. Giner, a lifelong resident of Danbury, brings over 20 years of banking expe- rience in residential lending to his new position. He most recently worked as a mortgage loan originator at North- pointe Bank in Danbury. Trevi Therapeutics picks new chief medical officer Trevi erapeutics Inc., a New Haven-based, clinical-stage biophar- maceutical company, announced that Dr. David Clark will serve as its new chief medical officer. e company is developing the investigational therapy Haduvio to treat chronic cough in adults with id- iopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other chronic cough conditions, and for the treatment of the skin condition prurigo nodularis. Clark has more than 25 years of global clinical development experience in big pharma and biotech. He most recently served as chief medical officer at Allena Pharmaceuticals. Dr. omas Sciascia, a Trevi co-founder who has been serving as chief medical officer, will transition to chief science officer. Save the Sound has new president, VP of programs Leah Lopez Schmalz recently assumed leadership of environmental New Haven nonprofit Save the Sound. She took over as president in October, replacing Curt Johnson, who retired from the presidency role but will remain involved in the organization's efforts. Schmalz has been with the organization for more than two decades. She joined as its staff attorney in 2001, later becoming its head of programs in 2018. In recent years, she has overseen the organization's climate and resiliency, healthy waters, protected lands, ecological restoration and communications departments. Denise Stranko, an attorney and environmental consultant, has joined Save the Sound as vice president of programs. Stranko, of Glastonbury, has more than 20 years of experience in legislative action and policy. In her new position, Stranko will direct and implement the organization's strategic plan and serve as a primary voice for the Long Island Sound and the communities in its watershed. Washington Trust expands with three new hires e Washington Trust Company, which recently expanded its Connecticut presence by opening a new commercial lending office at 265 Church St., Suite 1010, in New Haven, has expanded with new hires. The bank added three new vice presidents, bringing the total number of employees based in the New Haven commercial lending office to seven. Earnest Clayton has joined as vice president, commercial real estate. He previously served as vice president, senior commercial credit analyst with Patriot Bank in Milford Lee Fernandez, who has more than 20 years of commercial real estate and banking experience, has been appointed vice president, commercial real estate.
