T
D Bank has had a longtime
hold on the Maine market.
It is still Maine's top bank, based
on market share, according to data
from the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corp. But in recent years Maine-
based Camden National Bank and
Bangor Savings Bank have closed
the gap, as the charts here show.
Each has more branches than TD
Bank, though evidently with fewer
average deposits. Over the past five
years, KeyBank has reduced its Maine
presence by 14 branches, though
the Cleveland-based bank retains
its spot at No. 4. Bank of America
is unchanged in the fifth spot.
