2 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | NOVEMBER 21, 2022 Our purpose at M&T Bank is to make a difference in people's lives and uplift the communities we serve. As regional president for Hartford, I can attest that our team works to deliver on this promise every day. The services and support we provide are based upon our understanding of the unique needs of our customers and the communities in which we live and work. Our newly announced Amplify Fund is an example of how we engage and show up in these communities. The M&T Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1993, established the Amplify Fund – a $25 million fund which serves communities in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Amplify Fund grants provide finite, multi-year funding to community- based organizations and intermediaries. I am pleased to announce that in October of this year, we awarded Amplify Fund-Connecticut grants totaling $6 million to 44 nonprofit organizations across Connecticut. In addition to M&T's current charitable giving, the deployment of support from the Amplify Fund will go a long way in uplifting low- and moderate-income communities, a core goal of our bank. The Connecticut nonprofits that were awarded these grants are shining examples of community organizations that best know how to tackle and treat the specific issues that confront their neighborhoods. The team at M&T looks forward to continuing to collaborate with these partners in furtherance of our broader Community Growth Plan. I want Connecticut communities to know that they can rely on M&T to get involved and help them grow even stronger. I'm proud of our Amplify Fund and other ongoing initiatives intended to strengthen and support communities. I am optimistic about the future and all that we can accomplish together.
