KeyBank has announced that Malissa Naylor has joined the bank as vice president, business banking relationship manager for the Hartford and Springfield areas. In her new role, she will provide financial services such as com- mercial lines of credit, SBA financing, equip- ment financing, cash management and merchant services to businesses with revenues between $3 million and $25 million annually. Naylor has more than 15 years of banking experience, most recently as a business banker with Webster Bank. Clinton utility Connecticut Water has named Michelle Royce Williams vice president of customer service and communications. Williams has 20 years of experience in communications and customer relations and joined the company's communications team in 2019. She succeeds Arthur O'Neill, who recently retired from the company after a 47-year career. Karen DeMeola has been named the inaugural assistant dean for diversity, belonging and community engagement at the University of Connecticut School of Law. DeMeola is a 1996 UConn Law graduate who joined the law school staff in 2000 after working as a civil rights litigator. She has served in several roles at the law school, including director of admissions and most recently assis- tant dean for finance and adminis- tration. She has also taught diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and critical identity theory. In 2017, DeMeola became the first person of color to serve as president of the Connecticut Bar Association. Architecture, engineering and environmental firm BL Compa- nies recently named Derek Kohl and Julia O'Brien to co-vice presidents of operations. Kohl and O'Brien will jointly oversee BL Companies' day-to- day operations, and will also continue to serve in their existing roles as executive director of engineering (Kohl) and general counsel (O'Brien). In addition to leading BL's oper- ations, they will be responsible for helping to lead business develop- ment execution and marketing, financial performance, project management, infra- structure, human resources, information technology, legal, suc- cession planning and culture. Kirstin M. Etela has joined law firm Day Pitney as a partner in its environmental practice. She was previously the U.S. General Counsel of Tradebe Environmental Ser- vices LLC, an envi- ronmental services and hazardous waste management company. Etela is based in the firm's Stamford office. John Shanley was recently promoted to managing advisor at Connecticut Wealth Management. Shanley leads a team of financial advi- sors in the develop- ment of comprehensive financial plans and investment strategies. Metrum Research Group, a biomedical modeling and simula- tion services company based in the Tariffville section of Simsbury, has named Michelle Johnson its chief executive officer, succeeding founder Marc Gastonguay. Johnson was previously chief oper- ating officer of MetrumRG, where she provided strategic business direction for the fulfillment of Metrum's mission and goals. Gastonguay, who founded Metrum in 2004, will remain chairman of the board of directors and will serve as a strategic advisor to Johnson and the executive team. The Hartford Chapter of the Real Estate Finance Association of Con- necticut has elected John Alissi its next president. Alissi currently serves as the presi- dent of law firm Updike, Kelly & Spellacy PC and is a member of the firm's corporate law department where he focuses his practice in the area of banking and commercial law, business law, real estate financing and leasing and public finance. Alissi represents commercial banks, finance companies and other debt and equity providers in all aspects of com- mercial lending, including acquisition and construction financing, permanent mortgage financing, syndicated loans, and participation agreements.
