It will feature more than 25,000 square feet of public open space and a plaza along a "retail laneway." e city of New Haven on Oct. 27 finalized its conveyance of Phase 1 of the former coliseum site, at 275 South Orange St., to LWLP New Haven LLC, a consortium of Norwalk-based developer Spinnaker Real Estate Partners, New Canaan-based architect and general contractor the Fieber Group, and Montreal-based real estate developer KDP. Hartford HealthCare acquires area medical business Hartford HealthCare - Go-Health Urgent Care has acquired Branford- based Stony Creek Ventures LLC and its two urgent care facilities in Branford and Orange. Touchstone Advisors, a boutique mergers and acquisitions firm, announced the deal in October, aer serving as financial advisors to Stony Creek Ventures for the transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed. Stony Creek's facilities are on Business Park Drive in Branford and Boston Post Road in Orange. Hartford HealthCare has had an ongoing push into southern Connecticut. In January, it opened a new urgent care center in Milford, inside Milford Marketplace, at 1646 Boston Post Road. Timex partners with UFC in launch of new 'tough' collection of watches Middlebury-based watch manufacturer Timex has a new collection of Ultimate Fighting Championship watches. UFC mixed-martial arts superstars Sean O'Malley and Dustin Poirier will serve as brand ambassadors for the "unbeatably tough" collection of watches. e new line of watches, created at the Giorgio Galli Design Lab in Milan, Italy, are designed for durability, according to Timex. e Timex UFC Colossus, for example, features a rugged case design, molded resin straps and ISO shock- resistant construction. Newman Architects expands New Haven presence Newman Architects has moved to a new, larger office space in New Haven that features a contemporary design and room for the firm to grow. e 30-person firm, which was first established in New Haven in 1964, has its new home on the 15th floor at 265 Church Street. e firm's new office features meeting rooms of various sizes, including a large, flexible conference space, which the firm plans to use for community and industry events and its sponsored lecture series. Newman Architects had been at the historic 300 York St. building by Yale University's campus for about four decades. GoNetspeed expands local fiber network Fiber internet provider GoNetspeed announced in October it has expanded its service area in New Haven County to Branford, Cheshire, Naugatuck, Waterbury and Wolcott. e company said it invested $22 million to install 369 miles of infrastructure to serve 50,000-plus additional homes and businesses.
