Kayser- Bricker joined Halda in 2019 as an original team member who established a novel drug modality for oncology. e company now has 24 employees and occupies state-of- the-art space in Science Park, New Haven. Prior to joining Halda, Kayser-Bricker was at Forma erapeutics, where she was involved in all stages of drug discovery within oncology, neuroscience and inflammation. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far? What have been your major accomplishments in the last year? I am passionate about company building and have been involved with two start-up biotech companies. It has been a great professional accomplishment to build the team and science at Halda. To establish a new drug modality requires rigor, innovation and most of all perseverance – all of which my team embodies. We have successfully validated a new approach and recently closed our $51M Series B Andrea Lobo Employer: Cornell Scott-Hill Health Corporation Title: Chief of Human Resources, Marketing and Community Relations College: University of New Haven Highest degree: Master's in Business Administration A ndrea Lobo is the chief of human resources and marketing/ community relations for the Cornell Scott-Hill Health Corporation. As a native of the Greater New Haven area, she is inspired by her passion for people and serving others within the community. Helping others and giving back has led her to a professional career in community focused business management. Lobo has more than 30 years of experience in the field of business management in the areas of human resources, finance and operational management. She received a Master's of Science degree in economics from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of New Haven. In her current position as chief of human resources and marketing/community relations, she has been committed to improving community health. She strongly believes that healthcare is a vital component in building strong communities and that human capital is the heartbeat of every organization. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far? What have been in December 2021. At Forma, I saw the company evolve and was part of the team that developed its first drug candidate CC- 95775 (FT-1101), a pan-BET bromodomain inhibitor that was exclusively licensed to Celgene in 2018. What are your keys to maintaining business success? Comfort with risk, clarity of focus, and nimbleness are my three keys to maintaining success. Biotech is a high-risk, high-reward business and you must be comfortable making decisions with limited data. Clear focus on the critical path and willingness to pivot are also a must in drug discovery. Fun Fact: Tell us something most people don't know about you. I am a fourth-generation chemist. It must run in the genes! your major accomplishments in the last year? My professional accomplishments include building a strong workforce, evaluating and improving all aspects of the employee experience, advocating for patients, working with all levels of the organization to remove barriers to care, improve access and achieve the health center's strategic goals. Under my leadership, the National Association for Community Health Centers recognized the Center for Best Practices in Human Resources. Additionally, the Center has been recognized with two national marketing awards. CS-HHC won a MUSE Creative Advertising Award in Marketing for its campaign to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in the black and brown communities it serves.
