Based in Farmington, the startup was formed as part of the UConn Technology Incubation Program. COVID-19 expert and Yale immu- nobiology professor Akiko Iwasaki co-founded the company with Anna Marie Pyle, a Yale professor of molecular, cellular and developmen- tal biology and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. Akiko Iwasaki Waterbury ShopRite to close in November; more than 200 layoffs expected A privately-owned grocery store in Waterbury will close in November after more than 40 years at the location. The closure means 203 employees will lose their jobs at the close of business on Nov. 11, 2022. There are no unionized employees at the location. Tornaquindici's other ShopRite store in Bristol will remain open.
