In total, UWKV provides support for 1 in 4 local people. Because of increased levels of need related to the rising costs of living, UWKV has raised its fundraising goal to $2 million. Additionally, UWKV was the first organization to endorse Impact2032, which unites community members and organizations across all sectors to accelerate change in Kennebec County. Moving forward, UWKV will be aligning its investment process with the Impact2032 10-year goals — funding programs focused on advancing health, education or financial stability for all people. Impact2032 will enhance UWKV 's efforts to produce more measurable results. To join the movement, visit impact2032.org. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES Ever y fall, UWKV runs an annual fundraising campaign to support 49 local nonprofits. Many workplaces allow staff to pledge contributions through simple payroll deduction, and individuals and families may donate online at uwkv.org/give. Additionally, United Way hosts several annual fundraising events including: � Annual Golf Scramble, hosted the first Monday of August, is UWKV's largest fundraiser—raising an average of $19,000 each year for its nonprofit partners. In 2022, UWKV had 27 teams play and received support from 32 businesses. � UWKV's Campaign Kickoff is hosted every September, marking the official launch of the fundraising season. More than 3,000 donors and over 140 businesses pledge support each year. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES UWKV supports 49 local nonprofit programs — prioritizing health, education and financial stability. Many businesses partner with United Way to host annual workplace campaigns, giving their employees an opportunity to support the community through payroll deduction. Businesses can give back to the Kennebec County community by hosting a campaign, making a corporate gift, donating a dollar a day through the 365 Small Business Circle, or sponsoring one of UWKV's many events or initiatives. Market research has shown that corporate community involvement helps attract, engage and retain high-performing employees.
