Foster a stronger and more resilient community by taking an intersectional approach across all EQME efforts 2. EQME brings the voices of LGBTQ+ people and allies to the fight for full lived equality in all areas 3. Establish the SAGE program as the leading voice for LGBTQ+ older adults in Maine 4. Advance the equality and awareness of LGBTQ+ people in Maine through education 5. Ensure transgender and gender non- conforming people are safe, healthy, and free from discrimination and bias 6. Youth – Create a more inclusive, supportive, and affirmative climate in Maine for LGBTQ+ youth FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES EqualityMaine's events are planned throughout the year to engage allies and members of the LGBTQ+ community and are open to all. Check our website calendar for exact dates. Signature events include: December Holiday Party, Springtime Senior Symposium, June Pride Cruise on Casco Bay, August Summer Camp for LGBTQ+ youth, September Soirée, September Golf Outing, and Great Pumpkin Ball Halloween Party. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES We rely on the support of our community and corporate partners. � An end-of-year appeal offers a way for individuals to show their support. � All our events provide opportunities for companies to become an event sponsor at various levels. � All events include a way for individuals to donate either at the event or by becoming part of the host committees prior to the events. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to protect and advance full equality for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Mainers by creating an inclusive and intersectional movement through political action, community building, education, engagement, and collaboration. SERVICE LOCATIONS Working to secure full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Maine since 1984. AT A GLANCE EqualityMaine � Individual and corporate sponsorships for campers provides a fun-filled week for youth to be with their peers in a safe setting. � Annual corporate sponsorships provide the funding needed for programming throughout the year. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Business and individual volunteers are what make our events so successful! All our events, as well as planned mailings throughout the year, offer opportunities for individuals and businesses to make a difference. Our event planning committees are fun and inclusive.
