RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland announced that Stephen Peck and Jodi Federle were awarded the "National Association of Realtors' Green Designation." Peck and Federle are associate brokers at the agency. The University of New England was named by e Princeton Review as one of the nation's best institutions of higher education in its annual college guide, "e Best 388 Colleges" for an eighth consecutive year. Berman & Simmons, a law firm in Lewiston, said that nine of its lawyers were included in the 2023 edition of "e Best Lawyers in America." Two of the nine were named "2023 Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year" while four others were listed as "2023 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch." Pierce Atwood LLP, a law firm in Portland, said that 36 of its Maine-based attorneys were included in the 2023 edition of "e Best Lawyers in America." Six of the 36 were named "2023 Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year" while nine others were listed as "2023 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch." Verrill, a law firm in Portland, announced that Kurt Klebe, Mary McQuillen and Jacqueline Rider were recognized in the "Chambers High Net Worth 2022 Guide." In addition, the firm was ranked in "band 1," the highest ranking a firm can receive. Klebe and McQuillen are partners with the firm while Rider is partner, chair of the firm's private clients and fiduciary services group and co- chair of its probate litigation group. Pineland Farms Dairy in Bangor won a "Gold Medal" for its New Gloucester cheese in the open category, cheeses with flavor added, at the 39th annual American Cheese Society Judging and Competition. The city of Portland announced that Joshua Stevens, nurse manager at the Barron Center, was one of 13 caregivers across the state chosen as a recipient of the "2022 Excellence in Long Term Care Award" from the Maine Long Term Care Ombudsman Program and the Maine Health Care Association.
