6 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | August 15, 2022 40 UNDER FORTY | 2022 Lindsay Castonguay Hany is a senior vice pres- ident, senior relationship manager in Bank of America's commercial bank. She leads the client team in the delivery of products and services specific to each company's financial needs. Hany is a trusted advisor giving each client detailed attention and helping them through situations ranging from moving money to financing multimillion-dollar acquisitions. She successfully manages her clients while contin- uously expanding the number and scope of the business clients she serves in Connecticut. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My biggest accomplishment was co-leading our market's first women in business networking event where I brought together 60 c-suite level women from companies all over Connecticut to network and build relationships. The event became a model for events all over the company and resulted in a great deal of new business for the Connecticut commercial banking market. How are you involved in the community? I volunteer for several nonprofits focused on ending hunger, children's education and the arts and serve on the boards of CT Women's Hall of Fame, Riverfront Recapture, Scapegoat Garden and Center School PTO. I'm involved in the UConn MBA mentorship program and speak in classes and at events. I also teach dance to local youth. What do you like to do outside of work? My favorite thing to do outside of work is spend time with my family, especially my kids Parker, Cameron and Isabell and husband Todd. We love swimming, playing and watching sports and vacationing. I also love teaching and performing dance, going to concerts and Broadway shows, running and biking. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Serve on several boards of directors for local charities in the Hartford area. • Successfully lead a client team to assist companies in achieving their financial goals. • Mentor junior associates at the company and help guide them in their current role as well as their future career aspirations. • Committed to women in business inter- nally as president of the firm's women's exchange and externally through working with women-owned and run businesses. Telyon is focused on owning and operating solar energy assets and assisting companies around the world with their clean energy initiatives through the development of solar, battery storage, EV charging and energy efficiency measures. As CEO, Chester touches all corners of the business including finance, business development, construction execu- tion, asset management and more. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? In the past, I would have responded with growing Greenskies into one of the largest commercial and industrial solar companies and successfully exiting. But recently, I have learned that my big- gest accomplishment has been doing it again – partnering with a global bank to create Telyon and growing it into another industry leading platform. How are you involved in the community? As a resident of Old Saybrook, I'm a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce as well as the Progressive Leaders of Today (PLOT) group. I'm also an active member of the Advisory Council for the Grenon School of Business at Assumption University. What do you like to do outside of work? When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel and I am an avid skier in the winter months and an avid boater in the warmer months as well as being a mediocre golfer. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Started a company at 23 years old, grew it 100-plus employees and brought it to a successful nine-figure-plus exit. • Successfully raised nearly $300 million from Goldman Sachs and founded a new platform company, Telyon. • Negotiated and closed the largest (at the time) commercial and industrial solar energy portfolio deal (100-plus MWs). • Negotiated and signed a master agree- ment for nationwide work with Amazon within Telyon's first year of operation. She has spent her entire career in the nonprofit sector and with United Way for nine years, beginning as senior manager of community engagement. Cook also is an adjunct professor in com- munications and public administration at Sacred Heart University. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Two accomplishments include developing the Making Choices interactive exercise with United Way colleagues to help people under- stand the challenges facing families in our region. The exercise has been done thousands of times and been made into a virtual experi- ence, adopted by United Ways nationwide. Another is working with real estate and building industry leaders to make the 'Building Foundations' breakfast a reality. The virtual event raised $300,000 and the first in-person event raised $420,000 to prevent and address homelessness. How are you involved in the community? I've volunteered since age eight. Three years ago, my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC). I have learned that while there is no cure for advanced cancer, there are major advance- ments in treatments allowing patients to live longer and more fully. My family and I organize an annual fitness challenge with friends to raise awareness and funds to help ensure all patients have access to the best lifesaving care. What do you like to do outside of work? I am happiest when I am spending time with my family, my partner, Ian and our French bulldog, Tor. I love to be outside and I'm an avid runner and Peloton enthusiast. I'm excited to run the Eversource Hartford Half Marathon to benefit United Way!
