18 Worcester Business Journal | August 22, 2022 | wbjournal.com As other seniors in Holy Cross' class of 2023 ponder what they will do after graduation, Lazzaro will be busy growing his already successful business, working for the good of Millbury public school students, and writing for a local print publication. When Lazzaro was 19, he started Nick's On-Site Detailing and has managed to grow the business significantly during the COVID pandemic. He won a Shark Tank Competition at Holy Cross, pitching his business to alumni and earned a $3,000 investment in his company. For three years, the company's profit growth averaged 68% annually, with revenue growth at 62%, and he is eying future expansion upon graduation. To help others follow his success, Lazzaro set up a scholarship fund for Millbury students, and his business has donated more than $1,500 to future college- bound entrepreneurs. Also at 19, Lazzaro was elected to Millbury's school board, making him the youngest elected official in the town's history. He was reelected this year and was the top vote-getter both times. Lazarro will start contributing to Worcester's The PULSE Magazine, discussing local government and culture. Somehow Lazzaro's studies do not get lost among his many ventures. He achieved the Dean's List in the Spring semester. - T.D. What four people would you take on a 10-year, deep-space mission?
