GIVING OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES POST-PANDEMIC: The pandemic brought to light the difficult reality that the needs of the population at large were much greater than had ever been anticipated. The small business community was devastated, and the economy was badly impacted. Many lost income and wages, savings were depleted, and individuals and families were not adequately able to sustain their basic needs. RCAP Solutions and the resources we provide have become even more vitally important during a time of crisis, as a conduit of information, referrals, and resources for emergency services. Our housing and financial assistance programs saw a massive increase in traffic as we helped struggling renters and homeowners by providing millions in emergency rental and mortgage assistance. Our workshops and counseling continued in both a virtual and hybrid setting, and our housing staff worked tirelessly to provide critical information and services to clients who sought resources for the first time. Our affordable housing properties worked around the clock to keep their resident families, seniors, and people with disabilities safe. Our team of environmental and community assistance providers provided services to essential water and wastewater operators through the rural northeast, distributed masks, delivered virtual trainings, conducted clean water programs in schools, distributed information, and conducted free private well assessments and water testing for homeowners. We continued to leverage millions in funds for rural communities and provide economic development initiatives to support small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs in underserved communities. While the future may be uncertain, we are dedicated in our focus to support our hardworking team and provide the flexibility and tools necessary to assist our constituents. We remain steadfast in our commitment to being stronger stewards of our mission, to support underserved communities, and pledge to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts with staff, partners, and clients. RCAP Solutions is the northeast partner to the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP, Inc.); our goal is to provide clean water and infrastructure programs to the six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The organization also serves as the Worcester County Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC), dedicated to providing safe and affordable housing programs to the residents of the 75+ towns and cities in our footprint throughout Central Massachusetts. Our focus continues to create safe, healthy communities, and as such, your contribution will help provide safe, affordable housing, workforce, and economic development opportunities, and ensure residents in rural communities have access to clean drinking water, suitable wastewater, and sustainable infrastructure.
