14 Giving Guide 2022 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Mass Audubon has developed an ambitious statewide five-year Action Agenda. This plan signals a dynamic new era for the organization focused on three overarching goals: Protect and Steward Resilient Landscapes, Advance Inclusive and Equitable Access to Nature, and Mobilize to Fight Climate Change. As Mass Audubon's largest urban wildlife sanctuary, Broad Meadow Brook's local action is integral to this statewide effort. Our future goals include: • Expand and steward protected areas for green space and low- impact recreational opportunities. These protected areas provide ecosystem services such as stormwater management, drinking water protection, and wildlife habitat. • Build inclusive and equitable access to nature by connecting historically underserved populations with nature for the benefit of both. This work is centered in our all-ages educational programming, including but not limited to: early childhood programs, school programming, teacher professional development, family and adult programs, summer camps, and student internships. • Inspire climate action through Youth Climate Leadership programs, model sustainability best practices, offer nature-based education programs, lead community advocacy efforts, and use our spaces to host community meetings, events, and voting (Worcester).
